As a full member of International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) since 1996, KAB has actively participated in the works of the international and regional forum of conformity assessment activities by attending IAF and PAC meetings, hosting international events such as the PAC annual meeting in 2004, etc.

To facilitate trade and market access of companies, KAB joined IAF MLA(Multilateral Recognition Arrangement) for QMS in 1999 and EMS in 2004, which contribute to eliminating the need for duplicative certifications and saving time and costs by ensuring that an accredited certificate may be relied upon anywhere in the world.

KAB has also signed in MCAA (Multilateral Cooperative Accreditation Arrangement) with ANAB, JAB, JAS-ANZ, TAF, EMA and TGA since 2007. The MCAA provides "for the recognition of the acceptability of the results of each party's assessment and accreditation program based upon the determination of equivalence."

With regard to standardization, KAB serves as a national secretariat of ITC 207, designated by KATS, a national standard body of Korea for the distribution of information on and deliberation of international standards on Quality Management and Environmental Management. KAB also is a member of national committee for ISO/CASCO(Committee on Conformity Assessment), in which KAB has reviewed and provided inputs of those draft standards being developed by ISO/CASCO.

In addition to its participation in international and regional bodies, KAB has maintained a close relationship with other national accreditation bodies. KAB has conducted annual meetings with JAB(Japan) to share experience and exchange information on accreditation system since 2000. Also, KAB signed the cooperative MoU with JAB and CNAB(China) in 2002. As the IAF Cross Frontier Policy has been effective, KAB will enhance cooperation with foreign accreditation bodies to give confidence in certification to the market.
